Tali Terms of Service
Last updated: 26 October 2026
These terms are a contract between you and Tali Ventures Caribbean Inc., a company incorporated in Barbados ("Tali", "we", "us"). They apply when you create a Tali account, use the Tali app at talicaribbean.com, or message Tali on WhatsApp. If you do not agree to them, do not use Tali.
Plain language note: we have written these terms to be read, not skimmed. Where a section has a legal effect we have said so directly.
1. What Tali is
Tali is a record keeping and bookings service for small and micro businesses. Through WhatsApp and the web app you can record sales and expenses, take bookings from your clients, send booking confirmations and reminders, and produce statements and reports from the records you keep.
Tali is a tool. It is not an accountant, a bank, a lender, a payment processor or a tax adviser. Tali never holds your money. Your statements are prepared from the records you enter and are not audited. You are responsible for checking them before you rely on them, give them to a lender or file them with any authority.
2. Who can use Tali
You must be 18 or older to open a Tali account. By opening one you confirm that you are, and that the business you record is yours or one you are authorised to act for.
If you are a programme client (for example a borrower whose lender has introduced you to Tali), your account is still your own. See section 9.
3. Your account
Your account is tied to your WhatsApp number. Keep your phone and your WhatsApp account secure; anything sent from your number is treated as sent by you. Tell us at once at hello@talicaribbean.com if you think someone else has access.
You can change the number on your account from Settings. We may ask you to confirm the change from both numbers.
4. Plans, fees and trials
Tali offers a free trial followed by paid plans. The current plans and prices are shown in the app under Your plan. Prices are in United States dollars unless stated otherwise and are charged through PayPal, which has its own terms. Taxes that apply in your country may be added.
New accounts get 7 days of full access without a card. If you have not added a card by day 8, your account becomes read only: your records are kept and nothing is deleted when the free period ends. Adding a card on the Billing page restores full access and starts your paid subscription from that day. The free period is given once per business.
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Your plan; your access continues to the end of the period you have paid for. We do not give refunds for part of a period, except where the law requires it.
If your trial ends without a subscription, or your subscription or a partner's cover ends and is not renewed, your account becomes read only for one year. During that year you can sign in and view your records and ask for one plain export of them, but you cannot add records, record through WhatsApp, or produce invoices, quotes, receipts, branded statements or PDFs. Subscribing again at any point in that year restores full access. At the end of the year your account and records are deleted. We will tell you by WhatsApp 30 days and 7 days before that happens.
If a programme partner pays for your plan, the partner's arrangement with us decides how long that cover lasts. We will tell you before it ends.
We may change prices with at least 30 days notice by WhatsApp or email. If you do not accept a new price you can cancel before it takes effect.
5. What you may not do
You agree not to:
- use Tali for anything unlawful, or to record transactions you know to be false
- send messages through Tali to people who have not asked to hear from your business, or in breach of WhatsApp's rules
- try to access another business's records, probe or overload our systems, or copy our software
- resell Tali or present it as your own product without a written agreement with us
- upload content that is abusive, infringing or harmful
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where we can, we will warn you first and give you the chance to export your records.
6. Your clients and their messages
When your client books with you through Tali, Tali sends them confirmations, reminders and your replies on your behalf, and tells them it is doing so. You are responsible for how you treat your clients and their information. Do not use client details collected through Tali for anything other than serving that client, unless they have agreed.
Tali is a shared WhatsApp number. A client who messages the number may be asked which business they are contacting. We forward messages to the right business and do not read them for any other purpose than delivering them and keeping the service working.
7. Your data and ours
Your records belong to you. While your account is open you can export them at any time from Settings, and you can close your account and have them deleted (see the Privacy Policy for how long that takes and what we must keep). While your account is read only after a trial or subscription ends, you can ask for one plain spreadsheet file (CSV) of your raw records in Settings or by replying EXPORT to Tali on WhatsApp.
You give us permission to store, process and display your records so that Tali can work, to prepare your statements, and to produce anonymised, aggregated statistics (for example "vendors in Barbados recorded X in sales this month") that do not identify you or your business.
The Tali software, name, logo and designs belong to us. These terms do not give you any rights in them beyond using the service.
8. Messages from Tali
By opening an account you agree to receive service messages from Tali on WhatsApp: confirmations, reminders, the daily check in, security codes and notices about your account. You can turn off the daily check in from Settings and you can stop all messages by replying STOP, although Tali cannot then work for you.
We will not send you marketing on WhatsApp without asking first.
9. Programme partners
Some lenders, business support agencies and other institutions ("partners") introduce their clients to Tali and may pay for their plans or use a Tali dashboard to support them.
By default a partner sees only aggregated figures about its group of clients, not your individual records. A partner can see your own summary (such as whether you are recording regularly and your monthly totals) only if you give consent inside Tali, and you can withdraw that consent at any time from Settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect your Tali account. If your partner pays for your plan and requires sharing as a condition of that payment, they must tell you so themselves; Tali will always show you what is shared and let you choose.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep Tali available at all times but cannot promise it will never be interrupted. WhatsApp, PayPal and our hosting providers are outside our control. We will tell you about planned maintenance when we can.
We improve Tali continuously and may change or remove features. If a change materially reduces what you pay for, we will tell you in advance.
11. Liability
Tali is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, or indirect loss arising from your use of Tali, from a message not being delivered, or from an error in a statement prepared from records you entered. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
12. Ending the agreement
You can close your account at any time from Settings or by messaging us. We can close your account with 30 days notice, or at once if you break these terms. In either case you can export your records first unless the law prevents it.
If you stop paying without closing your account, section 4 explains what happens: one year of read only access, then deletion.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you on WhatsApp or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use Tali after that date means you accept the change.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Barbados and the courts of Barbados have jurisdiction. If you have a complaint, write to us first at hello@talicaribbean.com and we will try to resolve it within 14 days.
